Subject: 19003/Choo Choo Anniversary Date: Mon, 17 Jun 1991 15:21:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 19003 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE INTENT OF THE CITY COUNCIL TO APPROPRIATE THE SUM OF THIRTY-FIVE THOUSAND ($35,000) DOLLARS TO THE CHATTANOOGA CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU FOUNDATION, A 501(C)(4) ORGANIZATION, FOR FUNDING OF THE "CHOO CHOO ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL" TRAIN FROM NEW YORK TO WASHINGTON, D.C. TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA TO CHATTANOOGA IN ORDER TO PROMOTE CHATTANOOGA AS A POTENTIAL SITE TO LOCATE BUSINESSES AND TO PROMOTE THE LOCAL TOURIST INDUSTRY, AND DIRECTING THE CLERK OF THE COUNCIL TO ADVERTISE THE INTENT OF THE COUNCIL TO ADOPT AN ORDINANCE TO THE ABOVE EFFECT AT REGULAR COUNCIL MEETINGS TO BE HELD AT 6:00 P.M. APRIL 30, 1991 AND MAY, 7, 1991. _______________________________ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that it be and is hereby declared the intent of the City Council to appropriate the sum of Thirty-Five Thousand ($35,000) Dollars to the Chattanooga Convention and Visitors Bureau Foundation, a 501(c)(4) organization, for funding of the "Choo Choo Anniversary Special" train from New York to Washington, D.C. to Atlanta, Georgia to Chattanooga in order to promote Chattanooga as a potential site to locate businesses and to promote the local tourist industry, and directing the Clerk of the Council to advertise the intent of the Council to adopt an ordinance to the above effect at regular Council meetings to be held at 6:00 p.m. April 30, 1991 and May 7, 1991.
